Sealed bids for the CANAL STREET BRIDGE IMPROVEMENTS, CITY OF NATCHEZ, MS 2019, PROJECT NO. ERBR-01-340(01), with funding provided by the Mississippi Transportation Commission, will be received in the Office of the City Clerk, 124 Pearl Street, Natchez, MS, 39120 until 10:00 A.M. local time on the 19th day of September, 2019. Shortly thereafter they will be publicly opened and read aloud and then taken under advisement until the next meeting of the Natchez Mayor & Board of Alderman. The work involved on this project is bridge maintenance and is summarized as follows:

Bid documents are non-refundable and must be purchased through the website. The contract time for this bridge improvement project is forty-five (45) calendar days.

Bid Form will be furnished with the Contract Documents. In order to be considered, bid shall be submitted on the Bid Form and shall be properly marked and addressed as directed in the Contract Documents.
Each Bid Form shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in the amount of Five Percent (5%) of the bidder’s total bid.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond in the amount of One Hundred Percent (100%) of the bidder’s contract price.
The award, if made, will be made to the lowest and best bidder on the basis of published quantities, who is considered qualified by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. The City of Natchez reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities, to negotiate with the lowest and best bidder to reduce the bid price to come within the funds allocated for the work, to reduce the job in order to stay within available funding or as desirable in the discretion of the Board of Aldermen, and to accept bids by classes and/or groups, if applicable, all as set forth and in accordance with applicable Mississippi law and in the Information to Bidders in or to reject any or all bids.
The City of Natchez hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, religion or national origin in consideration for an award.
Bids for this work will be accepted only under the name of the Bidder to whom the Contract Documents and Addenda, if any, have been issued by the Engineer. Bids received by bidders to whom the Contract Documents were not issued by the Engineer will be returned unopened.
State law requires a non-resident bidder to attach/included a copy of his resident state’s current law pertaining to such state’s treatment of non-resident contractors with their bid. Any bid submitted by a non-resident contractor which does not included the non-resident contractor’s current state law shall be rejected and not considered for award.
No bid bay be altered, modified or withdrawn within sixty (60) days after being filed with the Board of Aldermen.
