INVITATION TO BIDDERS
SMITH ROAD BOX CULVERT AND APPROACHES
WILKINSON COUNTY, MS – 2019
PROJECT NO. ERBR-79(03)
Sealed bids for the SMITH ROAD BOX CULVERT AND APPROACHES, WILKINSON, MS 2019, PROJECT NO. ERBR-79(03), with funding provided by the Mississippi Transportation Commission, will be received Wilkinson County Board of Supervisors, at the Office of the Chancery Clerk, 525 Main Street, Woodville, MS, 39669 until 10:00 A.M. local time on the 7th day of October, 2019.
Shortly thereafter they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The work involved on this project is box culvert and approaches and is summarized as follows:
All documents required for bidding purposes are being made available via paper or digital copy at www.jksllcprojects.com. Plan Holders are required to log-in or register for an account to view and order bid documents. Bid documents are non-refundable and must be purchased through the website. Bids may be rejected if they have not been purchased through www.jksllcprojects.com. Questions regarding website registration and online orders should be directed to Plan House at 601-336-6378. For questions related to the contract documents, contact JKS Engineers and Surveyors at 601-442-3628. No partial sets of drawings of project manuals will be issued.
The contract time for this project is ninety (90) calendar days. Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents may be examined without charge at the following locations – Mississippi Association of General Contractors, Mississippi Road Builders’ Association, Mississippi Asphalt Pavement Association, the Office of the Chancery Clerk and at the office of the Consulting Civil Engineers: Jordan, Kaiser & Sessions, LLC, 279 Lower Woodville Road, Natchez, Mississippi 39120, Telephone: 601-442-3628 or their website, www.jksllc.com
Bid Form will be furnished with the Contract Documents. In order to be considered, bid shall be submitted on the Bid Form and shall be properly marked and addressed as directed in the Contract Documents.
Each Bid Form shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in the amount of Five Percent (5%) of the bidder’s total bid.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond in the amount of One Hundred Percent (100%) of the bidder’s contract price.
The award, if made, will be made to the lowest and best bidder and who is considered qualified by the Wilkinson County Board of Supervisors. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities, to negotiate with the lowest and best bidder to reduce the bid price to come within the funds allocated for the work, to reduce the job in order to stay within available funding or as desirable in the discretion of the Board, and to accept bids by classes and/or groups, if applicable, all as set forth and in accordance with applicable Mississippi law to reject any or all bids.
The Wilkinson County Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, sex, religion or national origin in consideration for an award.
Bids for this work will be accepted only under the name of the Bidder to whom the Contract Documents and Addenda, if any, have been issued by the Engineer. Bids received by bidders to whom the Contract Documents were not issued by the Engineer will be returned unopened.
State law requires a non-resident bidder to attach/include a copy of his resident state’s current law pertaining to such state’s treatment of non-resident contractors with their bid. Any bid submitted by a non-resident contractor which does not include the non-resident contractor’s current state law shall be rejected and not considered for award.
No bid may be altered, modified or withdrawn within sixty (60) days after being filed with the Board of Supervisors.
